Solia Hair Straightener

The Solia Hair Straightener is a great hair straightener that is gentle on your hair and easy to use.

It uses ceramic/tourmaline ion technology on the plates to give your hair smoothness and shine. The Solia iron is designed to be used on either wet or dry hair and has a temperature control that goes from 140ºF to 450ºF. It heats up very quickly and temperature does stay consistent while you are working on your hair. The Solia Straightener comes in 3 convenient plate sizes: 1 ¾ inch, 1 ¼ inch and their Limited Edition Pink 1 inch plate. The handles are easy to grip and the cord is long and swivels.

The plates are aligned well so they grip hair firmly but without tugging and breakage. Also the plates are wrapped around the edge so you don't end up with indentations and can finish your style smoothly and also create great flips. Although the Solia flat iron is designed to work well with both dry and damp hair, the key here is to be sure hair is not soaking wet. Air dry hair for a while and then you can skip the blow drying part and use the straightener to finish the drying.

All the different plate widths are similar in performance but you should choose the size according to the length of your hair. For longer, hard to straighten hair try the largest 1 ¼ inch and for medium to short hair either 1 ¾ or 1 inch should be fine.

Even though the ceramic and tourmaline emits negative ions which helps protect your hair and allow moisture and natural oils to be sealed in, you should still use a product like serum or protein treatment before straightening - specially on the ends. This will further help protect your hair and leave it shinier.

Another great feature of the Solia flat iron, that many flat irons don't have, is an on/off switch and variable temperature control. The Solia hair iron has both and it heats up very quickly, almost instantly, and remains at the temperature you set. Also, it is very light and easy to handle. The design is perfect to be able to do even the hair on the back of your head.

Overall the Solia Hair Straightener is a great value for the money. It is not one of the priciest flat irons but it definitely does the job and gives you the straight, shiny and frizz-free hair you are looking for.
